Obituary

Anneice H. Baker was born December 30, 1938 to Ira and Edna Esther Gainey Henderson, the sixth of their seven children. On April 13, 2017, she left her earthly home in Choctaw Beach and received her home in heaven. She ran the race one day at a time and blessed all that her life touched. She loved serving the Lord and was a willing worker and volunteer whenever she had the opportunity.
Anneice was preceded in death by her husband, Alva R. Baker who she loved and adored, her parents, three sisters, Willie Dee Cuchens (V. H.), Wilma Cuchens (W. A.) and Jeanette Gandy, and one brother, Angus Lynn Henderson
(Nell).
She is survived by her children whom she loved and cherished: Sheryl
Benefield (Jeff) of Prattville, AL; Jan Bailey (Jeff) of Mobile, AL.; Gary Owens
(Shannon) of DeFuniak Springs, FL; A. G. Owens of Oklahoma; Pamela Perrich (David) of Pensacola, FL.; James Russell Baker (Paula) of Dixie, AL; Her grandchildren who were the light of her life: Taylor Benefield, Tony Brush, Codey, Travis and Trevor Owens, Paige Walker (Matt), Courtney and Nicole Baker, Isabella Owens, and nephews and nieces she treasured. She is also survived by her two sisters, Maveen Bruner of Caryville, FL and Carolyn Austin, of Savannah, GA; brother-in-law, Wallace (W. C.) Gandy of Ocala, FL; Carl Baker (Charlene) of Cottondale, FL; sister-in-laws, Helen Murphy (Jim) of Choctaw Beach, FL; Earnestine Baker, of Chipley, FL.
Viewing will be Sunday, April 16 from 1 – 3 pm, with the memorial service following at 3 pm at Southwide Baptist Church, 1307 Coy Burgess Loop, DeFuniak Springs, FL. Burial will follow at Southwide Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Anneice H. Baker to the Angel Tree, Mission or Building Funds of Village Baptist Church, 101 Matthew Blvd., Destin, FL 32541.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Benefield, Jeff Benefield, Codey Owens, Travis Owens, Trevor Owens, and Clint Bruner.
