Amon C. Adkison "Red", age 78 of Panama City, FL passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. Red was born February 22, 1936 to the late Amon Wesley and Lula Dale (Martin) Adkison in Enterprise, AL. He is a lifelong resident of the Vernon area and a member of the First Baptist Church of Vernon. Red is preceded in death by his first wife, M.E. McFatter Adkison, one grandson Amon Adkison, one brother, Homer Adkison, two sisters, Jean Newton and Mildred Wilson. Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Ruth Fowler Adkison of Panama City, FL, three sons, Carnette Keith Adkison and wife Nancy of Vernon, FL, Kevin Adkison and wife Dana of Vernon, FL, Kerry Adkison of Vernon, FL, two daughters, Kim Farrar and husband Chris of Vernon, FL, Carmen Burch and husband Scotty of Panama City, FL, one brother, Clio Adkison of Port St. Joe, FL, one sisters, Lincy Walls of Enterprise, AL, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Bonnet Pond Church with Reverend Russell Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonnet Pond Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
