Nellie Lavinnia Gasper, age 77 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Mrs. Gasper was born September 1, 1934 in Black, Alabama to the late Alto and Mary (Watford) Quattlebaum. She had been a resident of Chipley most of her life, coming from Black, Alabama and was a former client representative for the Washington County Council on Aging. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #42 in Graceville and was of Church of Christ faith. Survivors include: her husband of 58 years, James E. Gasper of Chipley; two sons, Michael Eugene Gasper of Panama City, David Wesley Gasper and wife Kathy of Crestview; two daughters, Ellen Marie Gasper Newell and husband Ronnie of Fountain, Fla., Karen Sue Gasper Morris and husband David of Chipley; four grandchildren, Ronnie Joe Newell Jr., Michael John Gasper, Jessica Diane McFaul and husband Dan, Jason David Morris and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with Edward Prescott and Tom Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Brickyard Chapel, Interment will follow in Wachob-Forest Lawn Cemetery.
